I saw an article in the April 10, 2005 issue of the national newspaper insert Parade. (The article on the web appears to have different info than the one in print—the latter was my reference.) It was comparing a variety of priorities in the US government with respect to how much tax money is budgeted per agency. I was particularly interested in the issue of science versus arts funding as that's one of my particular interests. I find this difference quite dramatic. All of the statistics can be perceived as either positive or negative, depending upon what side of the fence you are on of course .... [back to simplicity]
